"Hi, I am Ralph A Riedel. I am a United States Army veteran. I have over ten years of combined military and civilian law enforcement experience. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. I am an IT Professional by trade. I have lived in Plattsmouth for approximately 24 years. I have two children; both are in the Plattsmouth school system. My mission is to prioritize the educational needs of children so they can grow into thriving adults."
WHY AM I RUNNING
Support teachers and parents to raise children in a manner that is traditionally proven to produce a thriving adult; who values family, is respectful of all persons and is responsible for their decisions.
Ensure our schools focus not only in teaching the basics (reading, writing, arithmetic) but also teach sports, music, vocational skills, and trades (wood and metal shop, etc…).
Recognize that parents need to feel they can be involved in their children’s education.
Advocate for parental engagement to share concerns, or ideas for improving education.
Preserve American tradition by emphasizing basic values and principals on which the nation was founded; appreciate the sacrifices made by those that fought to preserve our freedoms.
Seek policies that attract and retain quality educators.
Ensure our schools remain financially sound by avoiding unnecessary or unproductive spending as well as ensure funds are invested in the areas that will promote a quality education and ensure spent funds are producing the desired outcome.
